Happy Friday! 

I have attached the results from Wednesday's Meet. The coaches are seeing great improvements in both swimmer times and technique. Dragons swimmers, thank you for putting in the hard work! 

Below I have outlined upcoming team events and deadlines, for your review. 

Sat, July 2 - Please declare your swimmer(s) for the July 6 Meet. Remember to sign up for a volunteer job, as well. 

Mon, July 4 - Holiday - The YMCA is closed, so no practice. 

Tues, July 5 - Team Activity - Letters to Soldiers (additional information below) 

Wed, July 6 - HOME Swim Meet against Eden Estates (more details to come) 

Fri, July 8 - Deadline to sign swimmers up for the July 11 meet. My deadline to submit our entries for the MONDAY, July 11 Meet at Lake Wilderness is Sunday at 5:00 p.m. I need your help - please declare your swimmer(s) for Monday's meet, by 11:30 p.m. on Friday, July 8. 

Letters to Soldiers - Show Your Support for Our Troops 

Join us as we celebrate the 4th of July this week. After practice Tuesday, July 5, we invite all swimmers and adults to write a note to Kyle Hensen and his fellow soldiers who are currently deployed. Kyle currently serves in the U.S. Army. He is a graduate of Massaponax High School, where he was a member of Men's Varsity Swim Team. 

We will provide the supplies (patriotic cards, markers, pens, stickers), and will mail the cards and notes. If you would like to create an Independence Day craft or drawing at home, bring it to practice on Tuesday, and we will include it in the mailing. 

This is a great opportunity for our swimmers to come together as a team to show appreciation for our freedom and to the soldiers dedicated to protecting it. 

To continue with our patriotic theme, we encourage you to wear red, white and blue Wednesday night at our Home Meet. On Tuesday, we will have patriotic tattoos for the swimmers to apply.
