A proud Fredericksburg native, Zach is excited to return to the pool this summer as a coach. A lifelong swimmer and product of both the RSL and year-round swim circuits, he got his start with the Salem Fields Sunfish and continued his swimming journey with Regency and the RAYS. His love for the sport runs deep, and he’s passionate about helping the next generation of swimmers grow both in and out of the water.
Zach is a local graduate of Riverbend High School and holds a Bachelors Degree in Vocal/Choral Music Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. During the school year, he has served as the Director of Choral Activities at Freedom Middle School in Spotsylvania County, a role he proudly held for the past three years. In addition to teaching, Zach holds a CDL and drives a school bus giving him an additional opportunity to further his commitment to the youth of our community.
Dedicated to upholding the mission of RSL summer swimming, Zach brings energy, experience, and heart to our swimmers! Outside the pool, you’ll find him staying active in a variety of roles around Fredericksburg—and if you ask him, yes, pineapple absolutely belongs on pizza. Sorry, not sorry!
Shawn Dillard just graduated from Chancellor High School and will be furthering hia education at Averett University in the fall. This will his first time coaching the Dragons as an assistant and he is incredibly excited for it! He is excited to give his knowledge and work with Coach Zach to help these incredible kids win finals! Go Dragons!
